Terms of Service

Template pending legal review — not yet binding.

Last updated: [Date]

These template terms govern your use of the Rentals Ledger service provided by [Legal entity]. They are a draft for the founder's lawyer to finalize and are not yet binding.

The service

Rentals Ledger is rental-property accounting and tax-preparation software for DIY landlords and investors. It provides bookkeeping, a tax engine, reporting, and related features.

Preparation, not filing — no tax or legal advice

Rentals Ledger helps you prepare your books and produces CPA-ready outputs. It does not file returns on your behalf and does not provide tax, legal, or accounting advice. You are responsible for reviewing your numbers with a qualified professional before filing.

Accounts and eligibility

You must be of legal age and able to form a binding contract to use the service. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for activity under your account.

Subscription and the Founding reservation

The standard plan is $99/yr (or $9.99/mo). The $9 Founding reservation is a separate, non-credited charge: it reserves your spot and is not credited toward later fees. At launch, Founding reservers pay $49 for their Founding first year, then $99/yr thereafter. Fees are described at the time of purchase.

Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the service, including by attempting to breach its security, disrupt its operation, or use it for unlawful purposes.

Third-party services

The service integrates third-party providers such as Stripe, Supabase, and Vercel. Your use of those integrations may also be subject to the providers' own terms.

Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind to the fullest extent permitted by law. To the extent permitted by law, [Legal entity] is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service.

Modification and termination

We may modify or discontinue parts of the service, and we may update these terms as the product evolves. You may stop using the service and close your account at any time.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of [Jurisdiction], without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.
